Website Design

Custom websites built around how your customers actually behave — fast, clear on a phone, and designed to produce enquiries.

Most people meet your business online before they meet you. We design sites that look credible the moment they load, make sense on a small screen, and quietly guide the visitor towards contacting you — without fighting them for attention on the way.

Where AI can fit in once the site is live

Once a site is working, the admin around it is usually the next thing worth automating — sorting incoming enquiries, drafting replies to the questions you get every week, turning a job form into a draft booking. We'd build the website first and look at this after, because a solid site with manual admin is a much better starting point than automation wrapped around a site that doesn't work.

A website is either doing a job or it isn't

Most small business websites don't fail dramatically — they just quietly do nothing. They look like they were made in 2014, take forever to load on a phone, and leave a visitor with no clear reason to make contact. That's not really a design problem. It's a business problem wearing a design costume. So we start by writing down what the site is for: take calls, fill bookings, sell something, or reassure someone before they spend. Everything after that follows from that answer.

The phone version comes first

Most people who find a local business online are looking at it on a phone, quite often on mobile data in a street or a car park. So we design the phone version first and build up from there, rather than shrinking a desktop layout until it survives contact with a small screen. That changes real decisions — larger tap targets, fewer paragraphs before the phone number, photographs sized so they don't eat someone's data allowance.

Getting in touch is never a treasure hunt

A visitor who has to go hunting for a phone number has usually already decided you're not worth the effort. Every page we build carries a visible call button, a message option and a form, so the answer to 'how do I reach these people' is never more than a glance away.

You will never need to edit it yourself

Changes happen at the worst possible moments — a price before a job, a photo taken this morning, a typo spotted on the way out the door. So every change after launch is ours to make. You send a text or a photo with arrows on it, and it's done the same day. You never log in, learn an editor, or open a laptop, which is exactly why the site stays current instead of quietly going stale.

Findable first, pretty second

A beautiful site nobody finds is an expensive hobby. Page titles, descriptions, local business details and sensible structure get built in from the start rather than bolted on afterwards, so the work starts earning the day it goes live instead of waiting for a separate SEO project six months later.

Common questions

Do I need a new website, or can you fix the one I've got?
Sometimes a rebuild really is the right answer and sometimes it's a waste of money. Ask for a free website audit first and we'll tell you which one you actually need — including when the honest answer is that your site is fine and just needs a couple of things changing.
How long does it take?
Most small business sites go live within about two weeks of the content being agreed. Bigger builds take longer, and you'll get a realistic timeline up front rather than a hopeful one.
What do you need from me?
Your logo, photographs, descriptions of what you do and your prices — as much or as little as you have to hand. If that's thin, we can write the copy and plan what photography to get. You will not be asked to be a designer.
Will it work on phones and tablets?
That's the main version, not an afterthought. We test on real phones, tablets and laptops, and it has to be genuinely usable on a phone before we call it finished.
Do I own the website?
Yes, entirely. The domain is registered in your name, the design and content are yours, and it's built so another developer could pick it up without drama. We don't hold anything back to keep a monthly payment going.
