Content management system (CMS)

The system behind the login that controls your site — set up, used and maintained entirely by us. You send the change; it's done.

A content management system is the admin area behind a login that controls the text, images and pages on a website. We build on one, we use it every day on your behalf, and you never have to open it. You send a message and the change is made.

Where AI helps alongside a CMS

Drafting a first version of a page from a few bullet points, or getting a rough version of the same article adapted for three different pages so nobody is staring at a blank screen. We use it to get a draft out faster, then somebody checks it against your prices, services and policies before anything goes live. The saving is in the drafting, not in the checking.

The CMS is our tool, not your homework

A content management system is the admin area — usually behind a login — that controls the text, images and pages on a website. We build on one so that changing a price, swapping a photograph or adding a news item takes us minutes rather than a development day. You never learn it and you never log into it. It's the thing that lets us do everything for you, quickly.

Chosen for the site, not out of habit

The most capable system isn't automatically the right one. What matters is that we can update it quickly without breaking the design, and that your content stays readable by other systems if you ever change supplier. We'll recommend based on the site rather than pushing whatever we're most used to, and we'll explain the trade-off.

Changes don't need you at a desk

Most of the changes a business needs happen in a moment — a price before a job, a photo taken this morning, a correction spotted on the way past. None of them should require you finding a laptop, and none of them do. Send a text or a photo and we make the change, because a good CMS means it never mattered where you were standing.

A stray change never reaches your customers

A good CMS lets us try something, see it live, and undo it if it's wrong. We set up previews and sensible limits so an experiment can't publish a half-finished page at 9pm on a Friday. That safety is ours to manage rather than yours to remember.

Nothing held hostage

Your content should be exportable and readable by other systems, because a CMS only our software can open is really a subscription you're stuck with. We use standard formats throughout, so another supplier could pick it up without a fight.

Common questions

What is a content management system?
It's the admin area — usually behind a login — that controls the text, images and pages on your website. You'll never need to use it yourself, but knowing what it is explains why a change takes us minutes rather than days.
Is WordPress the right choice?
We'll recommend based on the site rather than what's currently fashionable. WordPress is often a good fit because it's flexible and carries no licence fee, but it does need looking after — and for a very simple site a page builder can be easier to maintain. We'll explain the trade-off honestly.
Will I need training?
No, and you shouldn't need any. That's the point of the all-inclusive plan — you tell us what needs changing and we do it. There's no login for you to remember, no training to book and no software for you to keep up to date.
Can you build a new site on my existing CMS?
Yes, in most cases. We'll review what's there first and tell you whether it's worth building on or whether a fresh start would be cleaner — rebuilding on a bad foundation just moves the problems somewhere else.
What if I want to make changes myself?
You won't need to. If you ever did want access we can arrange it, but most clients would rather not, and we wouldn't recommend it if you'd struggle to find the time. We do it all, and it stays done.
