Search engine optimisation (SEO)
Local-first search work that gets you found on Google for the things people in your area actually type.

A website nobody can find is a website nobody visits. We build search into the site from the beginning — clean, quick pages and the right words in the right places — so you show up for the searches that turn into work, not just the ones that sound impressive.

Where AI helps in search work — carefully
Genuinely useful for the unglamorous part: pulling together what people in your area are actually searching for, spotting the gap between what you rank for and what you could, and drafting a first version of a page structure. It's much less use for writing the page itself. The judgement about what to say is the part that matters.
Local search is where the money actually is
For most small businesses, being found by someone a few miles away beats any national ranking you could ever achieve. We concentrate there first: your Google Business Profile, consistency of your name, number and address across the web, and local pages that name the towns you actually cover. It isn't glamorous work, and it reliably beats clever campaigns aimed at people who will never buy.
Fix what's genuinely broken, first
Before adding anything, we look at what's stopping both search engines and customers in their tracks. A page that takes six seconds to load. A title that says 'Home'. A site that breaks the moment you add a page. Five pages all chasing the same phrase. Fixing these is unglamorous and reliably worth more than buying new content while the foundations are still sinking.
The words your customers actually use
We'll look at what people in your area genuinely type, including the slightly odd local phrasings, and build pages around that rather than the language a brochure would use. 'Boiler repair in Canterbury' and 'central heating repair Kent' are different searches with different intent, and one clear page often wins both.
Content worth ranking
Search engines are now very good at spotting thin pages written purely to catch a keyword, so that approach tends to backfire. Genuinely useful content — an honest guide to choosing between tradespeople, a clear explanation of what your service actually involves — earns links, keeps visitors, and happens to be exactly what search engines are trying to surface.
Reporting you can actually read
A monthly report full of jargon tells you nothing. We'll tell you what changed, what we did about it and what's coming next, in words that don't need translating. And if something isn't working, we'll say that rather than explaining it away.
What’s included
- Keyword research based on real local search terms
- Quick, crawl-friendly pages Google likes
- Local SEO so nearby customers find you
- Clear page titles and descriptions
- Monthly reporting in plain English
Why it matters
- Visibility in the searches that bring work

Often useful alongside this
- A free website audit which is normally the sensible first step — it tells you what's actually broken.
- Website design if the audit shows the site itself is the problem rather than the content.
- AI for business to speed up research and content drafts — with a human reviewing what goes live.
Common questions
- How long before SEO shows results?
- Expect early movement within a few months and meaningful results somewhere between six and twelve. Local fixes like your Google profile can move considerably faster. Anyone promising page one next week is telling you something untrue.
- I already have a website. Do I still need this?
- Usually yes, because most existing sites were never built with search in mind. We start with an audit, and quite often the answer is a handful of changes rather than a rebuild — we'll tell you which it is.
- Do I have to keep paying for it forever?
- No. Search work works best as an ongoing process rather than a one-off, because your competitors and the algorithms both keep moving. But you won't be locked into anything, and we'll tell you honestly if you're in a good place to stop.
- What does it actually involve?
- Technical fixes, work on your Google profile, improvements to content, and links from places that matter locally. We agree what's realistic up front instead of selling you a list of things your site doesn't need.
- Can you get me top of the Google Maps?
- Local map results depend heavily on your Google Business Profile, genuine reviews and how close you are to the searcher. We can improve all three, but nobody can guarantee a position — anyone who does is either lying or planning something Google will punish.
